Terms of Sale

This puppy is sold to function as a companion dog, not to be used for breeding. Puppy will be sold with limited registration and cannot be used for breeding or shown in breed competition. However, this puppy can still be shown in performance events, if the owner chooses to do so.

We, Jim and Diana Conard, the breeders of said puppy, guarantee that said puppy, purchased by _________________ is in good health at time of purchase.

72-HOUR GUARANTEE

Breeder guarantees that puppy has had proper care to date and has been checked by a veterinarian. Shot records will be furnished at time of purchase.   Puppy has been checked clear of and/or treated for worms and coccidiosis. Stress and change of environment can contribute to a sudden onset of worm infestation, coccidiosis, and giardia which are not life-threatening if treated. Buyer is responsible for treatment. We highly recommend that your vet examine a fecal sample at the 72 hour check-up to avoid possible problems.

Buyers agree to have said puppy checked by their veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase. If the puppy is determined to be physically unhealthy, the puppy may be returned to the breeder with the veterinarian’s statement and the full purchase price will be cheerfully refunded. (This does not include worms, fleas, mites, coccidiosis, giardia, ichthyosis, non-descended testicles or any other parasites, as they are not uncommon in dogs and puppies.)

Breeder assumes no responsibility for veterinarian or shipping fees. However, if the buyer decides to keep the puppy, the buyer shall assume responsibility for all treatment expenses and shall not receive a refund from the breeders.  Breeder is not responsible if puppy contracts a communicable disease after 72 hours leaving breeder’s possession.

1-YEAR GUARANTEE

The parents of this puppy have been cleared for hip, elbow, heart and eye problems prior to breeding. This does not, in any way guarantee the puppy to be free of these problems, but every step of prevention known has been taken by the breeders to only breed dogs that have an excellent health history. 

Puppies have been fed Life's Abundance Large Breed puppy food and NuVet Plus supplement from 4 weeks to the time of pick up.  Our 1-year guarantee is continent upon the continued use of this premium puppy food and vitamin/mineral supplement for the first year of the puppy's life.

This guarantee covers hereditary problems that are debilitating or life-threatening to the dog. The guarantee of the hips/elbows does not cover problems that are environmentally induced. 

The purchaser should take great care in bringing up the puppy. The puppy should not be allowed to jump from great heights taller than himself (for example: avoid jumping off a porch or out of a truck), or run up and down stairs or do a lot of running and sliding on slick surfaces or be subjected to strenuous exercise. Before a pup reaches about age 15 months, his tendons are not strong enough to bear weight from impact. Lax tendons allow the head of the hip bone to bang into the hip socket causing trauma to cartilage and bone. This can cause hip dysplasia and elbow problems. Seller will not be responsible for this kind of damage. 

Should the Puppy develop severe hip dysplasia or a life-threatening congenital defect, even after proper care and proper food, then the pup will be replaced with a pup of equal value from the next litter. We will not replace a pup until we have received a copy of the OFA test results stating that the puppy has severe hip dysplasia (requiring surgery). Also, a letter from your veterinarian should include proof of regular vet visits that document a healthy maintained weight up until the diagnosis of HD or other congenital defects. We will replace a pup only once, since such an occurrence highly unlikely in the first place if proper care is given. This replacement does not include the cost of transportation or medical-related expenses. This guarantee covers the dog until 12 months of age. The breeder also maintains the option to refund all or part of purchase price of said puppy in lieu of replacing the puppy. If the puppy is to be replaced, it may be returned to the breeder at the buyer’s expense. If the buyer decides to keep the dog, the buyer assumes all costs for care. Shipping costs of the replacement puppy will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Normal weight for an adult Golden Retriever female 60-65 lbs.

Normal weight for an adult Golden Retriever male 70-75 lbs.

Extended Guarantee

In the health of any puppy, nutrition plays an extremely important role.  We believe that in the first 2 years of life, you have the chance to "build" a healthy adult.  For the benefit of your puppy, we recommend that Life's Abundance Large Breed puppy food and NuVet vitamins be fed for the first two years. 

Due to the varying kinds of environmental conditions puppies may come in contact with, and the fact that all puppies have immune systems that take time to mature, we recommend NuVet Plus immune system builder to help them maintain optimal health. We feel NuVet Plus and Life's Abundance puppy food will benefit your new puppy and, if continued through the 2nd year, we will extend this guarantee by another 12 months or 24 months total.  Detailed product information and ordering details will be provided to the buyer.

The Buyer agrees to provide this puppy a life-long commitment, comfortable safe environment, prompt medical attention, and responsible care. If at any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of this dog, the Seller is to be notified and given first options of resuming full ownership of dog or assist in re-homing the dog if necessary. Should any circumstances arise that affect the quality of life for this dog the Seller asks to be informed. Under no circumstances will this dog be sold, leased, traded or given away to any pet shop, research laboratory, animal shelter or similar facility.
